Premise condition of Excavator Boom Stick modification is that force from boom stick and loaded attachment should not exceed standard excavator setup or say force from original boom stick and bucket setup. if you increase Boom arm length that mean lifting capacity need to be reduced according to bevel principle. Long Reach Boom Stick with a big bucket will cause excavator unstable and put excavator and operator at danger condition.
Shorter boom/arm options have an opposite effect. Shorter Boom Arm/Stick can with a bigger Bucket or other attachment and it has bigger arm crowd force.
